Match Report
Against potentially the strongest side we will face, Crusaders woefully under-performed, allowing our hosts to record a comfortable win. Electing to bat, Downham found Darren and Mike difficult to get away, but our fielding and positioning allowed easy runs to be taken. This continued for the remainder of the 40 overs, with far too many boundaries conceded down the slope. Downham closed on 200, which was probably a score that we would have settled for at the start of play. We lost Richard in the second over and then lost our way completely, with Grant totally bogged down at one end. Overs came and went, but the scoreboard was not ticking over at any where near the required rate. An exasperated Timmo hurled abuse from the pavilion, but still Grant patted them back. Late cameos from Timmo and The Skip showed Downham that we did have something to offer and will hopefully be enough to keep the fixture.
