Match Report
The Grove forfeited the toss allowing us to take first knock on the sloped Hall Place wicket. A steady, deliberate foundation was laid, with Timmo (77) the mainstay of a competitive 179-8. He was well supported by Tubby Clark and Gordy and a bit of late order slogging.
It was soon apparent why The Grove had ceded the toss. The Fox maintained an immaculate line, gaining a bit of nip off the slope that meant the slips were regularly in the game and all Crusaders bowlers managed to find what was for The Grove a fairly wide corridor of uncertainty. Jim got his customary brace and matters were concluded by a delivery from The Skip that only bounced once; not only that but it went on to hit the stumps.
