Match Report

7 July -v- Northdowns at Chislehurst
Neil Clark made his Sunday debut, replacing injury plagued Fats Wilsdon, who had tried, unsuccessfully to f*** with the skip, on a Victoria bound train. Steve Davis came in for GG, who evidently was still recovering from a late night mauling from a lady with a beard, as we looked to extend further our winning season.
Northdowns won the toss and decided to insert us. After a run of mixed success Chucks made way for the prolific Bill ‘Wild Thing' Webb and this change in personnel soon developed into a rich run scoring machine. Having shared 52 runs, Bill eventually completed his nine lives, albeit through a controversial run out. Although the openers had given us a sound launch pad with which to increase the tempo, it had taken half our allotted time and once more those to come wilted under the challenge of having to score quick runs.
Only Danglers and Spud, sharing in a 61 stand for the 7th wicket, gave us anywhere near the sort of target we should have felt able to achieve. After a splendid tea, we set about dismantling the Northdowns innings. LSC and Silver Fox put the result beyond any doubt, in an opening spell which returned half the Northdowns side to the pavilion for only 54, before Spud was able to dangle a carrot, in the form of some fodder bowling from The Lip and Sumo, to enable our oppo some respectability. Some Crusader style running gifted two run outs and after the wily combination of Chucks and Tongue had plied their trade, the skip came on to tie up the loose ends.
A system of apartheid was put into practice as we totally ignored our oppo in the Bull. Still they will be no loss to our fixture card. Anyway Who Is Gary Pallister?
